How has the devil pulled down the anointed from the pulpit through sexual conduct. The devil is not strong only that the flesh was weak.

In this news, a senior pastor Scott Murphy E. with Newark Heights Church of God in Ohio USA has been sentenced to four years and ten months imprisonment for sexual offences with a teenager who happened to be a member of his flock he watched over in the past five years as a pastor of the church.

The stepmother of the teenage girl blind with fury, cleaning tears of agony as she vented her anger against the former pastor of her church inside the Licking County Common Pleas courtroom
“I would have thought I could send my daughter to church or to youth group without a monster preying on her,” she said.

Scott 45 years old, pleaded guilty to the four felony count charges including sexual battery, after engaging in a number of illegal acts with a then-15-year-old member of the Newark Heights Church  of God.

Assistant Licking County Prosecutor Chris Reamer said that Murphy made several requests of his juvenile victim electronically to perform sex acts and exchange indecent photos.

Murphy and the girl had a steady sexual relationship in the church including an episode they had in January in which Murphy digitally penetrated the girl inside a sound booth during a church teenager’s night.

Murphy also sent the girl picture of his penis.

After Scott showed remorse and regret in the wrong doing, both the family of the girl and the prosecution team had to reduce his sentence from 16 years to 4 years and ten months and considering Scott had been tagged with a Tier 3 offender, he will be required to register with authorities every 90 days for the rest of his life.

In Scott’s apology to the girl and her family, he said his actions “were totally wrong, irrational and uncalled for.”
He also apologised to the church members and entire community by saying “I let a community down that I served,” he said. “For that, my heart is genuinely ripped to pieces.”

But the stepmother of the girl called Murphy a “coward and a sorry excuse for a man.”

“No man of God could stand in the pulpit and lie to his congregation, his family and mine,” she said.

“The fact that it happened in church makes me sick.” she added.

In 1 Peter 5:8, the bible says  “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

Christians must be watchful because the devils is a smart guy.
