Six suspects have been reportedly arrested in connection with the murder of a female Redeem Christain Church of God preacher Mrs. Eunice Olawale Elisha in Abuja.
The nation online reported that Eunice was allegedly killed in the early hours of Saturday morning at Kubwa, Abuja.
Her lifeless body was found at the scene alongside her megaphone, Bible, Mobile phone. The preacher, Mrs. Eunice Olawale Elisha was a deaconess and wife of Elisha a Pastor with the Kubwa branch of the Redeem Christian Church of God, Old NEPA Road, Phase 4, Kubwa.
There is an ongoing investigation on the murder case led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) as ordered by Alkali Usman, the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to unravel the course of the death of the preacher.
As reported by the police, the six suspects are currently undergoing interrogation while been detained.
The Commissioner urged the residents to go about their normal activities and assured them of police’s relentless efforts and determination to fish out the culprits and bring the full weight of the law on whoever found guilty on the matter. Usman said outcome of the investigation will be made public.
Police spokesman Anjuguri Manzah in a statement yesterday said: “The commissioner of Police FCT has ordered the deputy commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, to lead discreet investigation into the murder of Mrs. Eunice Olawale Elisha, 40 years old, who was murdered by unknown persons in the early hours of Saturday at Gbazango Pipeline area of Kubwa.
“Contrary to reports from some sections of the media that the deceased’s head and legs were chopped off, the command wants to state that apart from marks of injury inflicted on some parts of her body, all parts of the deceased body were intact and the Police have taken custody of her remains for preservation and examination.”
The commissioner appealed to the public to remain calm and assist the police with any relevant information to aid in the investigation.
Meanwhile, same yesterday, the wife of the Vice President,Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo paid condolence visit to the family of the decease where she met with late Eunice’s husband who is the Assistant Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)-Divine Touch Parish, Abuja where Eunice was a deaconess before her unfortunate death incident.
Mrs. Osibanjo who was recieevd at about 1:29pm by Pastor Elisha, condoled and prayed for the family asking God to grant them the fortuitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Mrs Eunice had seven children.
After investigation, the public will be adequately informed of the cause of death of the preacher. Based on this article, it is very possible that the preacher must have been killed. May her soul rest in peace.
