Not less than seven people have been confirmed dead and several others injured from attacks by unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen in Kaninkon village in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state , ChannelsTV reports.
The attack is the most recent coming barely two weeks after gunmen besieged Godogodo village in the same local government, killing over 42 people, burning and houses and destroying property.
According to an eye witness in the village, the gunmen invaded the village on Thursday 27th Oct, killed the village head and six others.
With this attack, the whole of the community and its environs have become tensed since a couple of those communities have had their own fair share of the attacks from the begining of this year where hundreds of people have been reported killed.
This incident has been confirmed by the Kaduna State Police commisioner.
The commissioner said more police officers have been drafted to the village and its environs to maintain peace and order as well as safeguard lives and property.
