President Muhammadu Buhari is to return to the country today having received medical treatment in London for close to four months.
The President who before departing Nigeria on May 7th 2017 transmitted a letter to the National Assembly notifying them of handing over of power to his vice Professor Yemi Osinbajo in an acting capacity.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to address the country in a broadcast by 7 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, according to Femi Adesina, the President’s media adviser.
Adesina said Buhari thanked all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge in January this year.
Meanwhile, controversies have been trailing his stay in London with two different group erupting to request that he returns to the country or resign.
On the other hand, another group supported President Muhammadu Buhari to stay and receive the needed medical attention to get well before coming, defending him by saying after all he handed over power to the Acting President.
It will be a welcome development to have Mr. President back to work soon.
