In the evening of Sunday December 27th 2015, the Nigerian troops intercepted three different groups of Boko Haram insurgents at different locations in Maiduguri, Borno State .

The bombers had planned to bomb and attack various parts of maiduguri when the army laid ambush, intercepted and destroyed them. This was made known by  Col. Anka on the army website.
