Senator Ali Ndume, Senate Majority Leader has been relieved of his position as the house majority leader by the senate announced by the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki.
This sent a strong signal that the crisis in the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC has deepened uncontrolably.
The caucus in the senate forwarded the name of Senator Ahmed Lawan of Yobe North senatorial district as a replacement for Ndume.
The party’s caucus said the decision was reached during the last caucus meeting on 9th Jan. 2017.
However, Senator Ali Ndume in a swift reaction rejected the removal saying he is still the senate leader.
“I still remain Senate Leader, ” Ndume claimed during a press briefing, adding that he was not aware of his removal by the APC Senate Caucus.
Some political annalysts predicts another possible senate crisis stating that they do not see Ndume leaving without raising dust of some sort.
