The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted IPOB Director, Nnamdi Kanu bail on health grounds.
There was wild jubilations around the Abuja and beyond over bail granted to Kanu.



The sum of bail for each of them is put at N10 million Naira each.
Meanwhile, before the court decision, members of IPOB across the country had gathered in Abuja protesting and insisting Nnamdi must be granted bail. More details shortly…….

Strong indications have emerged showing Nnamdi Kanu may be released and set free from detension during the next court sitting on February 10, 2017.
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja fixed Feb. 10 to decide on whether or not it will dismiss the treasonable charges pressed against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The situation is getting confusing. The issue of secret trial was at some point kept aside, only God knows why they have decided to bring it up again. The man standing the trial Nnamdi kanu appears to be getting frustrated by this as it looks like the court is trying to buy time to just  continue to keep the young man, Nnamdi kanu  in detention. Below were his words during the last court session:
These are words spoken by Nnamdi Kanu recently in courtroom when Justice Binta gave her ruling.
1. “I won’t stand this travesty of Justice. Buhari spoke in public, he accused me in public.
2. “I must also be allowed to stand my trial in public”, Kanu bellowed from the dock.
3. “This is nonsense! I will give testimony before this court!
4. “By the time I finish, there will be no Nigeria. This is no Sharia court.
5. “It is a court that operates under the common law.
6. “There will be no screening of witnesses, no fake identities or fake addresses.
7. “I cannot be tried in secret. No! Nnamdi Kanu cannot be jailed in secret!
8. “They are mad. Why must I be tried in secrecy by a government that does not obey court orders?
9. “They are killing my people in public.
10. “After killing my people they want to try me in private?
11. “That person is mad. I won’t allow it. “, Kanu fumed.

As the embattled and detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu mark one year of being under detention, he has called on his fellow Biafrans to keep up the struggle should he die in detention.





Nnamdi Kanu said he is ready to die for the course of Biafra, and urged his brethren not to give up or be discouraged. Last Friday, it was one year after he was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) and thrown into detention.

– Julie Ward has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu and his co-defendant – The Member of the European Parliament said the violence against Biafra people must stop
– She called on other members of the parliament to do more to promote human right in Nigeria It seems the agitation for the release of Nnamdi Kanu and the call for an independent Biafra state has caught the eye of some top politicians in Europe as Julie Ward has made a plea to President Muhammadu Buhari.




Ward who is a Labour Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the North West of England gave a speech calling for the release of Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB)
Kanu was apprehended by security operatives in October, 2015 and has been in detention since then. The MEP noted that in spite of court orders asking for his release, Kanu has still been detained.




She said: “Since October 2015, Nnamdi Kanu, a British-Nigerian citizen and leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra has been unlawfully imprisoned by Nigeria’s Department of State Services despite the fact that all criminal charges against him were dropped and the court order has been issued for him to be released on bail. Chapter 4 section 39 of the Nigerian constitution says that every person every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impact ideas and information without interference.” Ward called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release Kanu and also stop the violence again Biafra people.




“I therefore call upon the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to uphold his country’s constitution, to ensure Nnamdi Kanu’s immediate and safe release as well as his co-defendant, Benjamin Madubgwu and James Nwawuisi.




“The Nigerian government must guarantee the freedom of expression of all Nigerian citizens including their right to protest without intimidation and end violence towards those who identify as Biafrans. “And I call on my colleagues here in the European Parliament to do much more to promote human rights in Nigeria.”

The National Judicial Council NJC, is to investigate alleged bias handling of the prosecution of the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
The petition was submitted through Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor pointing out that Justice John Tsoho of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court who has been the judge handling the prosecution of his client Nnamdi Kanu was bias in handling the case.

The Radio Biafra Director and leader of Indigineous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has engaged another strategy against the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Kanu on Wednesday, August 17, wrote a letter to the British High Commissioner, accusing the Nigerian government of fabricating charges against him. He alleged that The Government of Buhari is frustrating his trial in the two courts of Federal High Court and Appeal court.

Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled Radio Biafra Director and leader of the Independent People of Biafra(IPOB) has spoken ones again from the detention airing his mind on his struggle.

Kanu said his quest to liberate the people of Biafra is not his personal wish but God’s decision and instruction.

He said it is the will of the almighty God which no man can stop. He made this known from prison detention on July 25th, claiming it wasn’t his personal intention to bring about a stir in the agitation but the will of God.

Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)  has again been denied bail by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja today Friday.

As reported by The Cable, the judge, Justice John Tsoho ruled that Nnamdi Kanu was a threat to national security, hence  would not be granted bail.
